HOPE HOUSE ON CROTONA PARK, A PROJECT OF THE GREENBURGER CENTER OPENS DECEMBER 2026
The Greenburger Center for Social and Criminal Justice (GCSCJ) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit which developed the Greenburger Alternative to Incarceration (GATI) residential model for people living with serious mental illness and charged with higher level felony crimes. The GATI is a first of its kind ATI model in the nation and is being piloted in the Bronx at a facility called Hope House on Crotona Park (Hope House or HHCP). Hope House will service 16 adults with charges pending in one of New York City’s 5 boroughs.
Hope House will offer residents up to 2 years of trauma informed Medicaid eligible residential rehabilitative services. Mental health clinic services will also be provided on-site at a licensed mental health clinic operated by Athena Health. The expected length of stay is from 1-2 years, and all admissions are Court mandated as part of a plea agreement between a defendant and the prosecutor and approved by the Court.
At Hope House, our goal is to treat and equip residents to re-enter society in a stable condition, thereby enabling them to lead fulfilling and productive lives while keeping them, their loved ones and society safe at far lower costs than incarceration.
